The Stone Path

The Stone Path is quickly becoming a go-to destination in Boone for sweet treats and nostalgic finds. Offering creamy, award-winning Ashby’s ice cream, the shop features a wide variety of options including cones, bowls, malts and shakes, stackers (layered sundaes), floats, and more. In addition to ice cream, visitors can browse a fun selection of retro candies, trending TikTok sweets, dip and beer bread mixes, and other unique items - all while enjoying a welcoming space with indoor seating and a cozy lounge area.

Owners Julie and Ron Langreck made the move to Boone in 2024 to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Shortly after arriving, they launched The Stone Path in the lower level of the Livery building as a screen printing and gift shop in August 2024. As they got to know the community, they recognized a need for a local ice cream shop - something they personally enjoyed doing with their grandkids - and decided to expand their vision.

In August 2025, they relocated and renovated their current space, introducing Ashby’s ice cream to the community. Since then, the business has continued to grow, creating a place where families and friends can gather and make memories. “It has been a lot of fun seeing all the smiling faces coming in to enjoy ice cream,” Julie shared. “We’ve been so grateful for the repeat customers we get to see again and again.”

As they established their business in Boone, the Langreck’s connected with the team at Boone Bank & Trust Co. and quickly felt at home. They opened their accounts with the bank, appreciating the friendly service and hometown feel. They also credit Boone Bank & Trust Co. with helping them set up their Clover POS system, which has been a tremendous asset to their daily operations.
