Boone Bank & Trust Co. Announces Leadership Transition: President Jeffrey K. Putzier to Retire at End of 2025; Michael Carr Named Successor

Boone Bank & Trust Co. announced that Jeffrey K. Putzier, President & CEO, will retire at the conclusion of 2025 after 34 years of dedicated service within the Ames National Corporation (ANC) family of banks. Effective January 1, 2026, Michael P. Carr, currently Senior Vice President and Senior Loan Officer, will assume the role of President.

Putzier began his banking career as a bank examiner for the Iowa Department of Banking. In 1991, he joined State Bank & Trust Co. in Nevada, Iowa, before being asked in early 1999 to assist with a reorganization at Boone Bank & Trust Co. Later that year, Jeff was officially named President & CEO of Boone Bank & Trust Co.

During his tenure, Jeff and his wife, Jane, made Boone their home and raised their three daughters in the community. His leadership and commitment to customers, employees, and the greater Boone area have left a lasting impact. Reflecting on his career, Jeff shared, “I have always enjoyed working with the customers and the employees of the bank.”

Mike Carr has 25 years of experience at Boone Bank & Trust Co., having served in various capacities across the organization. A graduate of Iowa State University and a devoted Cyclones fan, Michael’s extensive background and commitment to the bank make him well-positioned to lead into the future. Jeff worked work closely with Michael to ensure a smooth and seamless leadership transition.
